Former senator representing Kaduna Central in the Eighth Senate, Shehu Sani, has taken a swipe at former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai over his comment about President Bola Tinubu’s Cabinet appointment.
Sani claims El-Rufai was lamenting because he never received any appointments from Tinubu. His comment comes following a post made by Nigerian-American writer Farooq Kperogi who alleged a plot by Tinubu to replace the head of NNPCL with another Yoruba man.
Reacting to the news, El-Rufai asked Tinubu to stop being arrogant and refrain from appointing only Yoruba indigenes into key positions.
“Two wrongs do not make a right. Sensible inclusion always trumps arrogant exclusion.”
In response, Sani took to X, to counter El-Rufai’s claim, tackling him of being silent about the nepotistic appointments under former President Muhammadu Buhari.
“There were people who were silent when Buhari was fielding political offices with his kinsmen and have found their voice to speak out when the equation doesn’t favour them.
“Let’s not make reference to the nepotism that marginalised Southern Kaduna for eight years. Kaduna was an apartheid state for eight years,” Sani noted.
