The people of Rivers State have praised the appointment of Dr. Olufemi Adekanmbi as the new Coordinator of the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP).
President Bola Tinubu appointed Dr. Adekanmbi, an environmental scientist with a PhD in Environmental Science, to lead the remediation efforts in Ogoniland, which has been plagued by environmental degradation and pollution from oil spills.
The appointment has been commended by various stakeholders in the state who believe Dr. Adekanmbi’s expertise and experience will be crucial in restoring the environment and economy of Ogoniland.
