Former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, has sparked mixed reactions on social media after he shared a video of himself bragging about selling the Igbos.
In the video, Dokubo said that if not for the intervention of the British, he would still be selling the Igbos just like his fathers did years ago.
He said: “You open. You take your leprosy hand to write. Don’t you have respect for the people who bought your father?
“Is it every Calabari that is a Calabari man? Do you know your roots? That you talk to me? You don’t know that people own this Calabari.
“You are law-abiding…Igbos, I don’t know them. I don’t know where they came from. Because I know that if not for British intervention, I will still be selling them. The way my father sold them.
“Now look at you people in Igbo land. Look at how you are dying woto-woto.
“You will do a video to sell that Alhaji has run away. You dey see me? I don’t run.
“Una head no correct. E be like say una dey look for who go finish una,” Asari Dokubo said this few days after his visit to President Bola Tinubu at the presidential villa in Abuja.
During his submission, Dokubo brought out an AK-47 rifle, while respond to comments made by the Indigenous People of Biafra.
Recall that moment after his visit, Dokubo addressed the press saying that Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, is a criminal who fueled the EndSARS protest while he walked freely, a claim the proscribed group refuted.
In his recent video, many Nigerians have expressed their displeasure at his comments and actions, some also blamed President Tinubu for granting an audience with Dokubo.

Does this man not know his roots or he still believes the tales by moonlight his father told him? 70 years old man.
It is disheartening to see people making inflammatory statements that simply help to widen existing schisms and propagate stereotypes.

Rather than using such language, we should keep in mind that unity and understanding should be our guiding values.
True progress can be made…
