Bayo Onanuga, Spokesperson for President Bola Tinubu, has mocked Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, following the report that Naira has made positive improvements.

Obi, who is known for his criticism of the Tinubu-led government, has been asked to acknowledge the positive move on the Nigerian currency.

Onanuga stated that the Naira has been holding its ground against the US dollar and other foreign currencies and that a report by Bloomberg reveals that the Naira is experiencing an unusual period of stability.

He described the recent stability report as positive news, although the naira lost 70% of its value against the dollar since the relaxation of foreign exchange controls in 2023.

In a bid to mock Peter Obi, Onanuga took to his social media page, saying, “The naira is holding its ground against the greenback and other currencies. This is good news, not bad news. I invite Mr. Peter Obi to retweet the exhilarating story.”
