Abdulaziz Yari, a former governor of Zamfara state clashed on live television amid his persistence that he is in the race for senate president.

The senator-elect who spoke to journalists on Monday, May 15 on the sidelines of the induction ceremony of new and returning members of the national assembly said it is the right of any senator-elect to aspire to be a presiding officer of the upper legislative chamber.

However, speaking in an interview on Arise TV on Tuesday, May 16, Rufai asked him about his antecedents as Governor of Zamfara State which is one of the poorest in the country.
