Confusion rocked the Lagos State House of Assembly when operatives of the Department of State Services stormed the Assembly premises on Monday, February 17.

A video that has since viral shows the moment officials of the security agency made several attempts to break into the legislative chamber.

While the purpose for their gathering couldn't be ascertained at the time of filing this report, multiple reports indicated that the operatives sealed off the office of the Speaker currently occupied by Mrs Mojisola Lasbat Meranda.

As of the time of this report, Meranda is presiding over a plenary session. The DSS operatives never invaded the chambers.

The heavy presence of the operatives at all entrances leading to the chamber is giving anxiety to members, THISDAY learn.

It was learned that the DSS operatives locked the Speaker's Office.

As of the time of filing this report, lawmakers are currently sitting for today’s plenary.
