The Troops of the Joint Task Force Northwest Operation HADARIN DAJI under the command of the General officer Commanding  8 Division Nigerian Army have nutrialised five bandits and rescued  unspecified numbers of  students of Federal University Gusau that were abducted in the early hourz of Friday in Sabon Gida in Zamfara State.

The bandits invaded Sabon Gida at about 3am, and kidnapped an unspecified number of students of Federal University Gusau including the female students. 

The  troops later pursued and engaged the bandits in a gunbattle, killing five of them and forcing them to abandon some of  the abducted victims.

It was earlier reported that armed bandits had invaded the josyel which belonged to students of the varsity in the early hours of Friday.

Many students were abducted in the aftermath of the bandit invasion.
