Premier League giants Chelsea are edging closer to securing Victor Osimhen's signature, as per reports.

According to Journalist, Miguel Delaney, the Blues have been engaged in negotiations for the Nigerian international.

The chief sportswriter for The Independent indicated that the talks between Napoli and Chelsea which have been complicated in the last couple of days is beginning to see the light of day.

Despite the Blues unwillingness to activate Osimhen's €130 million release clause, the two parties are beginning to agree to the widely reported swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku.

Napoli are reportedly open to the agreement, as new manager Antonio Conte wants the Belgium international to lead his attack when the season starts.

New Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca doesn't consider the former Manchester United striker as part of his plans ahead of the new season.

Chelsea are however hoping that Victor Osimhen will consider lowering his £200,000 per week salary to facilitate his move to Stamford Bridge.

While Chelsea wants to maintain their strict salary structure, reports indicate that they may make an exception for the Super Eagles striker.
