Nigerians have voiced their concerns on social media regarding the country's economic crisis under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a series of posts shared on X platform (formerly known as Twitter), many express the belief that the current administration has let down the populace with its governance.
Citizens argue that Tinubu's approach to leadership has cast former President Muhammadu Buhari in a comparatively favorable light, suggesting that Buhari, despite his shortcomings, now seems more competent in retrospect.
One Nigerian recalled a statement by the former president predicting that people would miss his administration—a sentiment that appears to be gaining traction.
The economic downturn intensified following President Tinubu's decision to eliminate subsidies, as announced in his inaugural speech on May 29, 2023.
Subsequently, fuel shortages emerged, and the prices of fuel and essential commodities soared, leaving many Nigerians struggling to make ends meet. This prompted the president to initiate the distribution of palliatives to mitigate the hardships faced by the citizens.
Moreover, the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission's announcement of increased electricity costs for customers receiving 20-24 hours of power supply has sparked widespread protests.
The Nigeria Labour Union is advocating for a revision of the national minimum wage to address the economic strain that has heavily impacted Nigerians.
These issues are among the numerous challenges currently confronting the people of Nigeria.

I've been saying this... But somehow it's how Nigeria government has been since the 4th republic.
The former government looks like a saints after a new government comes in.
