Following the decision by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to remove fuel subsidy, there have been loud cries from Nigerians.
Many complain over their inability to afford the new price of fuel as a result of the immediate implementation of the subsidy removal.
On Monday, May 29, President Bola Tinubu announced during his inaugural speech the removal of fuel subsidy.
This has now brought uneasiness among residents across the country following the hike in fuel prices.
Many have taken to social media to raise concerns, some claim they are unable to cater for themselves and their families as they struggle to buy fuel at such high rates.
Popular journalist, Rufai Oseni on his part said President Bola Tinubu has made his first mistake less than 24 hours after he assumed office.
He added that this mistake is now being paid by the poor Nigerians.
In some filling stations, fuel which was being sold at N230 is currently being sold for over N500.
Below are some reactions;
Talk talk too much for PBAT, he had no business mentioning fuel subsidy removal on inauguration day. He said that he had been briefed on the state of the nation's economic growth and subsidy removal so he must have known that there was already a provision for subsidy till June.

Nothing good start easy everybody knows that. We can’t say it’s a mistake now. I’m sure there are plans around it but the Implementation will take time. Everybody knows removal of subsidy will lead to chaos at the beginning but in time things will fall back to normal.

He shouldn't have mentioned it, n even if he did, he should have said..this is my plan for it: Not it is gone, otilo. Even in movies, d president doesn't talk anyhow, so he won't spread nationwide panic and crowd reactions.
