President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima have jetted out of the country on separate missions.
Tinubu is reportedly on a state visit to France in honour of an invitation from President Emmanuel Macron.
During his three-day visit, the focus will be on strengthening political, economic, and cultural relations as well as creating more partnership opportunities, particularly in agriculture, security, education, health, youth engagement, employment, innovation, and energy transition. This visit promises significant benefits for Nigeria.
Accompanied by his wife, Oluremi Tinubu, President Tinubu will be welcomed on Thursday at the 350-year-old French military museum, Les Invalides and Palais de l’Élysée, by Macron and his spouse, Brigitte, for initial ceremonies that will lead into bilateral meetings.
Vice President Shettima left Abuja for Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, to participate in the opening ceremony of the International Exhibition of Extractive and Energy Resources (SIREXE) 2024 conference.
Having departed Abuja on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, for the event organized by the Government of Côte d’Ivoire, the conference will run until December 2.
The conference will focus on “Policies and Strategy for the Sustainable Development of the Extractive and Energy Industries”.
Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Office of The Vice President, stated on Wednesday that the conference will take place from November 27 to December 2, 2024, at the Abidjan Exhibition Centre.
Nkwocha mentioned that the visit was at the invitation of Côte d’Ivoire’s Vice President Tiémoko Meyliet Koné.
The Vice President is expected to return to Abuja on Wednesday December 4, 2024.
