A photo of the inauguration invitation addressed to Peter Geoffrey Obi, is making rounds on social media as many quizzed if the invite was indeed meant for the Labour Party presidential candidate.
The question comes following the name written on the invitation. As it is known Peter Obi’s middle name is Gregory and not Geoffrey as stated on the inauguration invitation.
On Monday, May 29, Bola Tinubu and Shettima will be sworn-in as president and vice president of the federal republic of Nigeria.
As part of their preparation to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari, the Presidential Inaugural Committee have sent invitations to several distinguished personalities ahead of the event.
The question raised is whether or not the APC sent an invitation to Peter Obi despite the law suit he filed against Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress and the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Peter Obi is contesting the outcome of the 2023 presidential election held on February 25, following the irregularities that occurred during the election. He is also contesting that Bola Tinubu did not get the 25 per cent in the federal capital territory as stated by the constitution.
Although the case is before the election tribunal, Bola Tinubu's inauguration committee are preparing a week long event to celebrate the emergence of the new government.
Reacting to the invitation, some social media users wrote;
