The meeting between former President Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo and First Lady Remi Tinubu caused an uproar when photos emerged on Monday, June 17 during a Sallah homage visit.
The photos sparked new reactions and raised questions about the former president's loyalty. They were shared a few days after he was seen wearing a cap with the emblem of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
This discussion has led to political figures taking jabs at Peter Gregory Obi, who Obasanjo openly supported over Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar, his former vice president.
Another political figure who reacted to the trending photo is Daniel Bwala, who criticized the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
Bwala stated that the photo of Tinubu’s wife with Obasanjo would give Obi sleepless nights.
In response to the meeting between Obasanjo and Remi Tinubu, Bwala mentioned that some Pentecostal bishops have also distanced themselves from Obi.
Bwala posted on X, saying: “This picture will give Mr. P, aka ‘Greengory,’ sleepless nights. @PeterObi. I personally know of three prominent Pentecostal Bishops who have also turned away from him and his 'take back your country' hate speech. My uncle Pat Utomi will soon do the same. Mark my words.”
Despite both being from the Southwest, Obasanjo and President Bola Tinubu belong to different political affiliations.
