The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ward 8 of Aniocha North Local Government Area in Delta State, Clement Chiazor, has announced that Senator Ned Nwoko has officially dumped the PDP for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Chiazor stated that he received a resignation letter signed by the Senator on January 30, 2025. He described Nwoko as a serial political defector and mentioned that Nwoko cited disunity, division and factionalisation in the party as the reasons for his defection.
Sharing his thoughts on Nwoko's resignation from the PDP, Chiazor described his defection from the PDP to the APC as laughable and inconsequential.
According to Chiazor, Ned Nwoko has left the PDP multiple times before and had always returned, adding that his exit would not impact the party.
He said, "The party had never been affected by Nwoko's serial defection. Yesterday, I received a resignation letter from Senator Ned Nwoko leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). PDP Ward 8 is an indivisible, formidable, and united big family. Let's not be distracted. Senator Ned left PDP to APGA in 2003 to contest for the governorship position, and PDP didn't die. Rather, it remains stronger and united until he later found his way back to PDP again.
In 2011, Senator Ned Nwoko left PDP again to DPP to contest for Senate position and PDP didn't collapse but rather remained more flourishing until he, Ned Nwoko, found his way back to PDP for the second time.
In 2023, PDP came to our rescue and gave Senator Ned Nwoko mandate to represent the good people of Delta North Senatorial District in the Red Chamber. Just barely one year and a few months as a Senator, he has left the party again to APC. This is laughable.
Therefore, we urge our teeming supporters to remain focused, be formidable, loyal, faithful, and committed to the party, PDP. Let us not be distracted.
It pays to be loyal, for every worker has a payday. We will continue to chart the way forward of our great party in bringing the much needed infrastructural and human capital development in line with the M.O.R.E AGENDA of the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Sheriff Oborevwori.
PDP remains the only viable party in Delta North and Delta State in general. God bless our leaders, stakeholders, and our teeming supporters," Chiazor stated.
