There is nothing between us — Galatasaray coach Buruk breaks silence after attack from Mourinho

Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk described José Mourinho's actions during their match as lacking class.

Mourinho approached Buruk and pinched his nose, causing the Turkish coach to fall to the ground during a tense moment in the Intercontinental Derby clash.

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager was subsequently dismissed from the touchline as his side crashed out of the Turkish Cup quarterfinals.

Victor Osimhen's brace secured a remarkable victory for Galatasaray at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium, with the hosts managing to reduce the deficit on the stroke of halftime.

Speaking about the incident in a post-match press conference, Buruk criticized the veteran Portuguese manager for his behavior.

“There was nothing between me and Mourinho,” Buruk stated.

“He pinched my nose from behind. There was a slight scratch. Of course, it wasn’t a very nice or elegant thing to do.

“We expect managers to behave more appropriately in such situations. I won’t exaggerate this issue, but it wasn’t a classy move.”
