John Mikel Obi has offered fresh insights on Chelsea's recent struggles in the latest episode of his podcast show.
The Blues have dropped to sixth position on the Premier League table following their appalling 3-0 defeat away at Brighton and Hove Albion last Friday, February 14.
Chelsea's poor results in recent times have raised a lot of concerns over the quality of the players, the manager's pedigree, and the new club owners' understanding of the game.
Mikel Obi, who played at Stamford Bridge for 11 seasons during the era of the club's former owner Roman Abramovich, has disclosed that the current state of Chelsea would have been considered a crisis which would have led to the sacking of current boss Enzo Maresca.
"That would have been a crisis back in the day. The helicopter would have landed by now. And whoever is in charge would have been gone. There’s no two ways about it," the former Super Eagles star said on his Obi One podcast.
"It's gonna be a fvccing disaster if we don't finish in the top 4."
