Bashir Ahmad, a former media aide to the former President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has reacted to widespread reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has made its largest asset recovery since its establishment.
According to a statement by the EFCC's Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the property in question was owned by a former high-ranking government official.
The estate, spanning 150,500 square meters and consisting of 753 units of duplexes and other apartments, is located in the Federal Capital Territory on Plot 109, Cadastral Zone C09, Lokogoma District, Abuja.
In a post on X, Ahmad described the unknown government official behind the latest loot as sick and called for more support for the anti-graft agency.
"Whoever stole Nigerian money and acquired lands or better to say a whole village to build 753 units of duplexes and other apartments must be SICK. We must support the EFCC and authorities in their efforts to address this cancerous corruption and ensure all the culprits are severely punished according to the law of the land," he wrote on X.
