President Bola Tinubu has declared that Nigeria’s "days of gloom" are over as he presided over the first national caucus meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja.

This marks the first meeting of its kind that the President has attended since assuming office 20 months ago.

Expressing satisfaction with the progress made under his administration, Tinubu commended security agencies for addressing security challenges in parts of Zamfara.

He assured Nigerians that the nation was moving toward brighter days, stating, "The days of gloom are gone; we are looking at the bright, early sunny side of our country and our people."

He further added: "To all of you, I’m very grateful. I am happy that we called this caucus meeting and you are here, caucusing. Thank you very much for the vote of confidence. I’ve received it, and it is very encouraging."

"For me, there is a very sunny part of Nigeria that I see right now, and I am very happy. One of the most challenged individuals in terms of security has given a testimony."

"A lot has been done for many of us, but to hear a testimony that security of life and property is improving in Zamfara is heartening. I have seen people from Birnin Gwari on TV, farming and reaping rewards."

"I am a very happy man. The sunny side of this country is on the horizon. Things are getting better. The days of gloom are over, and we are looking forward to a brighter future for our country and our people."

Tuesday’s meeting commenced at 7:22 p.m. upon Tinubu’s arrival at the venue.

In attendance were APC governors and other party chieftains.
