Super Eagles Stars in Europe: Four Nigerian stars on the scoresheet

It was another weekend of impressive performances from some Super Eagles stars in Europe, with several players scoring for their clubs.

From the Premier League to the Spanish La Liga and the German Bundesliga, we saw decent performances from Super Eagles stars.

Let's put the spotlight on four players who scored for their clubs over the past weekend.

Christantus Uche - Getafe

In the Spanish La Liga curtain raiser for the weekend matches, Nigerian international Christantus Uche scored in Getafe's 2-1 victory over Girona on Friday, February 14.

The versatile midfielder capitalized on a mistake by the Girona defense to give his side an early lead inside the opening three minutes.

Umar Sadiq - Valencia

Sadiq was at his best as Valencia scored in their 1-1 draw against Villarreal on Saturday, February 15.

It was the first La Liga goal for the on-loan striker since joining Los Che from Real Sociedad last month.

The Super Eagles striker came on as a second-half substitute and scored the equalizer in the 84th minute to rescue a point for Valencia.

Gift Orban

Gift Orban was on the scoresheet as Hoffenheim won 3-1 away at Werder Bremen in the German Bundesliga on Sunday, February 16.

Orban scored the last goal of the game in the 63rd minute as the away side staged a remarkable comeback after going behind early in the 7th minute.

It was the third league goal for the 22-year-old, who was handed a starting role by coach Christian Ilzer.

Calvin Bassey

Bassey scored the winner for Fulham in their crucial 2-1 victory against high-flying Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday, February 15.

Emile Smith-Rowe gave the home side the lead at the quarter of an hour before Chris Wood equalized in the 37th minute.

Bassey grabbed the winning goal in the 62nd minute of the game to secure all three points for Marco Silva's side.
