Thousands of Nigerians have taken to social media to express displeasure in the security forces' constant apportioning of blames to members of the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) when matters of insecurity arises.
This was in reaction to the statement of the Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba that investigations revealed that the attack on the Imo State custodial service centre and the Imo State Police Command headquarters, yesterday, April 5, was carried out by members of the IPOB.
I,800 inmates broke jail after the attacks.
According to Mba, the IPOB came in their numbers with sophisticated weapons such as Sub-Machine Guns, AK49 rifles, Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPGs), and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) to carry out the attack.
Here are some reactions from Nigerians on social media:
Gov.Ortom was attacked & nearly assassinated,FUNAM openly claimed responsibility &police @PoliceNG didn't mention FUNAM. How come same @PoliceNG openly declared that #IPOB is responsible for the clash b/w unknown gunmen and security forces in #Owerri even when IPOB distance self?

When Nigeria terrorist government wants to expand their terrorism, they look for who to blame.

They have seen IPOB and ESN as easy target for their little game to distract you as they continue to attack, kill and rape our mothers in the bushes with Fulani bandits
Being igbo in this country is frustrating..different laws for ndi igbo...see how the IGP accused IPOB without investigation...Ya diba

I found it funny that even before IPOB denied responsibility of the Owerri Prison incident, IGP already drew conclusion & blamed IPOB for it.

But whenever a pro-Fulani group takes responsibility for an attack that happened in the North, our presidency says it’s not them.
My bio.
Months Ago, Over 50 Igbo Women Were Lifted By The Nigerian Army From Obigbo To Abuja. They Were Raped & Tortured. Yet, Some Of You Who Claim To Be Ndigbo Acted Blind, Deaf & Didn't Condemn The Act. But When It's Time To Condemn IPOB & Nnamdi Kanu, You All Bark Like Dogs On Drug!

The continued arrest of innocent Igbos and IPOB will set Nigeria ablaze. Mark my word, Nigeria government is threading on a very dangerous lane. This is not 1960s, any innocent Biafran killed by Nigeria Security forces will be avenged in full force . Stop arresting innocent Igbos

Biafrans wake up & see the hand writing of the Nigerian military in that Owerri prison break and burning of Imo state police command? Their thumb print is all over the crime scene. They left many evidences that linked IGP Adamu to all the UGM attacks in order to frame ESN & IPOB

When we tell you that Nigeria security forces abate and support killer herdsmen some doubt it, last Week herdsmen stormed Ebonyi state killed over 30 people the IGP till today could not make any arrest, but within 24 hours he has concluded that Owerri prison break was IPOB.
