Report indicates that soldiers shut down the timber and building market in Orlu, Imo state on Tuesday, July 27.
This action was in solidarity with Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) who has been arrested and is currently standing trial.
A source told TheCable when market sellers showed up to trade on Tuesday, that they were turned away by the soldiers who asked them to remain at home until Biafra Republic was achieved.
However, Babatunde Zubiruo, spokesperson of 34 artillery brigade command in Imo when contacted hanged up on TheCable news and refused to respond to text messages sent to enquire about the situation.
