Sir, are you a Ghanaian? - Instagram user asks Dele Momodu over frequent posts of Ghana's President-elect Mahama

An Instagram user has questioned Dele Momodu, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) about his Ghanaian heritage.

The user with the handle @abassmoney0 sought clarification from the presidential aspirant when he shared photos of Ghana's President-elect in his first transition meeting with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo.

Since John Mahama was declared the President-elected, Momodu, an ally of the former president has hailed the latter influence on his ascension to the leadership of the West African country.

In his latest post, captioned the photo: "President-elect John Dramani Mahama has officially arrived at Jubilee House to meet outgoing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, marking the start of the transition process after his victory in the 2024 elections."

Mahama and Akufo-Addo met at the Jubilee House on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 to begin the transition process.

GhanaWeb reports that President Akufo-Addo smiled upon the arrival of Mahama and Naana Jane, extending his congratulatory messages to the newly elected leaders, in a video posted by CitiFM.

The outgoing and incoming leaders took pictures to mark the occasion, symbolising the end of an era and the beginning of a new government.

The transition process is to ensure a smooth process and handover of power to the incoming administration on January 7, 2025.
