A Nigerian man has opened up about how, at the age of sixteen, he followed bad company and counsel and ended himself raising a child alone at an early age.
In a touching conversation, the man going by the name Lucky Imueko described his experiences to content creator Lucky David Udu.
Lucky Imueko revealed that his friends used to make fun of him for not being in a relationship with any girl when he was just 15 years old. He chose to live with a female who was friends with his friend's girlfriend to have a feeling of association and belonging.
He said he and the lady who was five years older than him back then, started a relationship and one day the lady's parents brought her and her things saying she was pregnant for him so he should stay with her.
Since he was young and living alone, he decided to approach his older sister for guidance. When their mother learned about it later, she requested that the lady keep the pregnancy.
Lucky claimed he stayed with the woman and managed to get menial work after she gave birth, but he was unable to save any additional money since he had to use all of the money for the baby's maintenance.
He acknowledged that he had depression during that time and came to the realization that raising a child was not easy.
One day his child got burnt in a vehicle accident and spent five months in the hospital. He suffered a great deal as a result of the child's hospitalization because he had to pay fortunes for the child's treatment.
Since her daughter was in high school and is currently a university student, he has been living with her. He claimed that although his daughter encourages him to get married, he always protests because he prefers to wait until he has completed all of his daughter's requirements before getting married and because he doesn't want a circumstance where a woman would put a barrier between him and his daughter.
He revealed that the woman with whom she had the child is currently married and has three other children.
Lucky Umueko is now a proud father seeing how his daughter has grown into a beautiful and intelligent lady.
The now 22-year-old daughter conveyed her gratitude to her father for everything he had given up for her. Despite her father's lack of wealth, she views him as a blessing because he constantly goes above and beyond to ensure that she is content and living life to the fullest.
Lucky Imueko advised the youth to never be in competition with anyone and not follow bad company as it could bring about one's doom.
