Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Strategy and Information in President Bola Tinubu’s administration, has received knock following his recent criticisms on former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s government.

The post in question featured a photo of a newspaper dated November 2004, with the headline “More Nigerians commit suicide as OBJ’s policy takes its toll.”

Onanuga attempted to remind Nigerians that President Tinubu was not responsible for the current suffering and hardship being experienced. However, it backfired as Nigerians dug up old newspapers featuring him and Tinubu.

One social media user shared a photo of a 1999 Newswatch newspaper with the headline “Why Tinubu must go” featuring Gani Fawehinmi.

Another critic posted an old photo of Bayo Onanuga lamenting about the country’s situation with the caption, “Six weeks after the birth of democracy, our people are yet to feel the impact of leadership.”

Other resurrected videos of struggling Nigerians queuing to collect a loaf of bread under Tinubu’s administration while comparing the present situation to years ago.

You might not really understand because you're benefitting from Tinubu's administration but the hardship is record breaking.
