Afrobeats singer Seun Kuti has tackled Nigerians who celebrate Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organization and Kemi Badenoch, the Leader of the UK Conservative Party.

Taking to his social media page to express his frustration, Kuti questioned Okonjo-Iweala’s actions during her tenure as Nigerias Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy between 2011 and 2015.

He stated that Iweala mismanaged Nigeria’s funds and caused the economy to collapse, leading to telecom giant MTN and others shutting down.

Kuti alleged that she must have done something to impress the people who control the World Trade Center for her to be considered worthy of the position. However, he believes she failed to deliver for the people of Nigeria.

“Ancestors know that there is nothing you can say to any of you, even in Nigeria, like Okonjo Iweala, as if she hasn’t showed you people pepper for this Nigeria. Nigerians are the most stupid people I’m sorry to say.

This woman was the Coordinating Minister of the Economy, she let the economy collapse. MTN, everything was shutting down when she left. All the money was empty in our coffers. Yet, the journalist of Nigeria will keep writing about her, as if she is somebody great.

What did she do in our country? The World Trade Center has picked her, definitely she has done something to impress people that control World Trade Center, that is good for them. But you, Nigerian, what is it she did for you? Is it the time she said we have to privatize she did on PHCN, that Yar Adua had to come and reversed her privatization.

She said our electric infrastructure was worth $3 billion but it was too broken down to sell, so they used $9 billion to renovate the whole thing. After renovating it with $12 billion, she sold it for $3 billion. The value did not increase. This is the person the media continue to praise in Nigeria.

Regarding Kemi Badenoch, Seun Kuti slammed the UK leader for her criticisms about Nigeria. He pointed out that her statement claiming Africans owe Europeans for colonizing them is nonsense.

He said, “Kemi Badenoch saying all sorts of nonsense, forgetting the country’s colonial experience.

She said we owe Europeans for colonizing us. Yet, journalists in Nigeria praise that kind of person. If she comes to Nigeria to contest any position, all these Nigerian professionals, she won’t need to rig, they will say she is the best to represent black people.”
