Sacked Ndume reveals danger ahead of nationwide protest, fear it could end like EndSARS

Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South senatorial district, has advised President Bola Tinubu to engage in a dialogue with the youths planning to embark on a nationwide protest.

Despite being sacked for criticizing President Tinubu’s government, Ndume warned about the possibility of the protest ending similarly to the EndSARS protests.

Ndume stated that the organisers of the protests are unknown, making it difficult for the government to identify and negotiate. He cited the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) as an example where the issue was resolved after the government engaged the leaders.

He made these comments during an interview on Channels Television Politics Today.

The President of the NLC, Joe Ajaero, has also called on the federal government to address the youths rather than making accusations about the protest.

Regarding the issue of insecurity, Ndume noted that Maiduguri is currently more secure than the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

However, he encouraged Nigerians to be patient with President Tinubu, stating that he has only been in office for one year and has always been responsive to Nigerian concerns.
