Victor Osimhen has become a hot topic in the transfer window this summer. The 25-year-old is expected to leave the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium despite signing a contract extension with the club last December.
The Nigerian international has been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Chelsea and Arsenal as potential destinations.
The reigning African Footballer of the Year has also been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain as reports indicated that he had agreed to personal terms with the Ligue 1 champions.
Despite several reports surrounding his exit from Napoli, the former Serie A champions are yet to reach a concrete agreement with the player's suitors.
With just about 48 hours left for the transfer window to close, transfer market expert, Fabrizio Romano has disclosed that Chelsea and Saudi-based club Al-Ahli are the only two clubs currently pursuing the Super Eagles striker.
Osimhen is reportedly not keen on a move to the Saudi Pro League, despite receiving lucrative offers from the Middle East.
Chelsea are said to be preparing to launch a late bid for the former Lille striker after their initial loan deal for the player was rejected by Napoli.
“Understand Chelsea and Al Ahli remain the two clubs in active talks for Victor Osimhen, Romano wrote on X.
“Al Ahli still trying to convince Osimhen after agreement on €65m package with Napoli.
“Chelsea are still attentive as contacts are ongoing, separate story from Sancho.
“No bid from PSG.”
