A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has claimed that Governor Siminalayi Fubara never spoke as a governor.

Sharing his thoughts about the recent declaration of state of emergency made by President Bola Tinubu, Joe Igbokwe noted that Fubara only speaks and behaves like a student union president, not a governor.

Recall that due to the political crisis in Rivers State, the President suspended Governor Fubara, his deputy and members of the House of Assembly. He also appointed Vice Admiral Ibok-Ekwe Ibas (Rtd) as the Administrator of affairs in Rivers State.

Taking to social media page to comment on the ongoing impasse, Joe Igbokwe wrote, “In actions and deeds, Fubara never spoke as a sitting governor. He behaved and spoke like a Student Union President.”

President Tinubu’s move sparked outrage with many condemning his action to declare a state of emergency in Rivers State.

However, the Senate and the House of Representatives on Thursday, March 20, 2025 gave approval for the emergency rule in Rivers State.
