Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, has commended President Bola Tinubu for his decision to reshuffle his cabinet and dismiss underperforming ministers.
On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, President Tinubu released the names of ministers who have been relieved of their duties and made new appointments.
Uju Kennedy Ohanenye, the former Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, was among four other ministers sacked from Tinubu’s administration.
In response to the development, Reno Omokri expressed his excitement at her removal from office. He lamented the numerous controversies she was involved in, which caused ridicule for Tinubu’s government.
Omokri stated that Uju is more suited for the World Wrestling Federation than a role in public office.
He said, “The sacking of Uju Kennedy-Ohaneye, the Minister of Women Affairs of Nigeria, is a praiseworthy move by the President. This woman is more suited for the World Wrestling Federation than for a role in government.
Constantly engaging in petty squabbles and disrupting events and occasions. And her meddlesomeness in cultures she does not understand, like the marriage of 100 orphaned girls in Niger State, which was consensual and did not involve underaged girls, was a major setback for the popularity of the administration in the North.
I commend the President for showing her the door. He needs a person whose temperament is calm, with a more contemplative attitude, such that they think long term and begin with the end in mind before speaking and acting.
Additionally, the coming on board of Ambassador Bianca Onoh is a significant plus for the administration. This is a woman I know personally, and can vouch that she has the character and breeding to bring class and polish to the Federal Executive Council.”
