Former spokesman for the now-defunct Atiku-Okowa Presidential Campaign Council, Daniel Bwala has taken a swipe at Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate.

On his social media page, Bwala claimed that Peter Obi is having sleepless nights due to a recent meeting between former President Olusegun Obasanjo and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu on Monday, June 17, 2024.

Photos of Obasanjo visiting Remi Tinubu during the Sallah celebration circulated on social media. This follows an event where Obasanjo was seen wearing a cap with President Bola Tinubu’s ‘broken shackles’ emblem.

Despite being from the same Southwest region, Obasanjo and Tinubu have different political affiliations. During the 2023 presidential election, Obasanjo publicly supported Peter Obi, despite a visit from Tinubu seeking his endorsement.

Bwala in a playful jab at Obi, mentioned that some Pentecostal bishops have also distanced themselves from Obi and suggested that Obasanjo’s meeting with Tinubu’s wife is causing Obi sleepless nights.

In a post on X, Bwala wrote: “This picture would give sleepless night to Mr P alias “Greengory.’ @PeterObi.

“I personally know of three prominent Pentecostal Bishops that have also abandoned him and his ‘take back your country hate speech”

“My big uncle Pat Utomi would soon abandon him too. Mark my words.”
