Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, has once again entered the public discourse with remarks directed at Peter Obi, the Labour Party's presidential candidate in 2023 and Nigerians.

Omokri took to social media to address a shift in public opinion, noting that the same individuals who lauded the Nigerian Labour Congress for advocating a higher national minimum wage are now criticizing it for not addressing the national grid's outage.

Recall that the workers in the electricity sector shut down the national grid in a bid to support the NLC in their fight for increased minimum wage, leaving the country without power supply. Hospital staff were not left out in the protest as they all laid down their tool.

The Federal Government had proposed N60,000 minimum wage but the NLC refused insisting on its N494,000.

Nigerians began to raise concerns over the shut down of the national grid. Reacting to the issue, Omokri wrote; “The same Nigerians cheering the Nigerian Labour Congress yesterday are the same people now jeering the same NLC today over their failure to turn back the National Grid on. That is reflective of life. Do not get carried away by commendation, or you may get swept away by condemnation. Your admirers today may be your crucifiers tomorrow. Therefore, do not follow the crowd if you want to rise to the cloud. Follow principles, and you will be a principal man!”

The inclusion of Peter Obi's image in Omokri's post ignited conversations among Nigerians, with many pondering over his persistent focus on Obi and his regular commentary on the ex-Governor of Anambra state.
