PDP to discipline Wike for alleged anti-party activities

Several petitions have been sent to the disciplinary body of the People Democratic Party, accusing Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and other members of engaging in anti-party activities.

Umar Sani, a Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to former Vice President Namadi Sambo, stated that the party is prepared to address Wike’s actions.

Speaking on the Arise TV Morning Show, Sani said that the party is currently working hard to resolve the crisis.

He explained that the driving force behind the move is the PDP Governors’ Forum, which has BEEN reactivated after a period of dormancy to address the internal crisis.

“The issue has been oversimplified, with many framing it as a clash between Abubakar Atiku and Nyesom Wike.

“The Forum is actively working to resolve the crisis,” Sani stated.

The PDP Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Abdullahi, mentioned that Wike had been officially summoned to face the disciplinary committee in September.

Abdullahi explained, “Three weeks ago, we put two committees in place, one for reconciliation and one for discipline, and Nyesom Wike is one of the persons to face the disciplinary committee, which is headed by elder statesman Chief Tom Ikimi.”

Complaints have been raised by some PDP members over his actions and they believe his membership needs to be questioned.

Sani noted that while court orders may restrict the removal of officials, they do not prevent internal disciplinary actions.
