Rio Ferdinand has reiterated the need for Manchester United to go all out and secure the signature of Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen next summer.
The Red Devils are eager to bring in a top striker to bolster their attacking options ahead of next season.
With the current season nearing its conclusion, Osimhen has emerged as one of the top targets on Manchester United's list of signings for next season.
Currently on loan at Galatasaray, the 26-year-old has been in prolific goal-scoring form since completing his season-long loan deal from Napoli in September.
Osimhen has registered 28 goals and provided five assists in 32 competitive matches for Galatasaray.
Speaking on his podcast, Ferdinand urged his former club to capitalize on Napoli’s interest in Alejandro Garnacho to secure Osimhen’s signature when the transfer window opens.
“I would want him to play on the left wing at Napoli, with Osimhen coming the other way,” Ferdinand stated.
“Because Garnacho—if we didn’t have Amorim as the manager and instead had a coach who played with traditional wingers—I wouldn’t consider selling him. I like him. I love him.
“But if I’m Manchester United, Victor Osimhen must arrive at the club next season. I would make it happen. And the caveat is, if I were advising Garnacho, I’d tell him to go to Napoli.”
