Bayern Munich's new signing, Michael Olise, has revealed why he joined the Bundesliga giants.

Olise completed his move to the Bavarians on Sunday, July 7, in a deal worth £60 million from Crystal Palace.

Prior to the move, the 22-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea, but the Blues failed to strike a deal with the Eagles to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

The French winger of Nigerian descent was close to joining the Blues last summer but ended up signing a new deal to extend his stay at Selhurst Park.

Olise signed a five-year contract with Bayern Munich, now managed by Vincent Kompany.

Speaking after completing his move, the French international said, "The talks with FC Bayern were very positive, and I'm very happy to now be playing for such a big club."

"It's a great challenge, and that's exactly what I was looking for. I want to prove myself at this level and play my part in ensuring that we win as many titles as possible with our team in the coming years," he added.
