Former President Olusegun Obasanjo reportedly visited First Lady Oluremi Tinubu on Monday, June 17 to celebrate the Sallah holiday.

Sharing the news on X, the Special Assistant to the First Lady on Media and Publicity, Busola Kukoyi, posted a photo on social media with the caption:

"Former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and the First Lady of the Federal of Nigeria Senator Oluremi Tinubu after receiving the Former President who came felicitating on the Sallah Celebration on Monday June 17."

Days ago, former President Olusegun Obasanjo was seen at an event wearing a cap with the same emblem President Bola Tinubu is known for wearing.

President Tinubu described the emblem as broken shackles which is seen on all his caps.

It was surprising to many to see the former President wearing it especially after he became a major critic of Tinubu leading up to the 2023 presidential election.

As a result, Obasanjo declared support for Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections.

Obasanjo’s move elicited several reactions from Nigerians on social media who raised questions about his actions.
