Nigerians on Twitter have kicked at the exclusion of Punch after other national dailies got an advertorial from the presidency.
Major national dailies had their front page covered with the New Year message from the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), while Punch had pictures showing New Year celebrations from all over the world.
Twitter users have now hinted that the exclusion of Punch from the advertorial might be a deliberate action by the Presidency.
According to them, it must have been due to a Punch editorial issued on December 11, 2019, which criticized this regime's disregard for the rule of law
Below are reactions from Nigerians.
Ladies and Gentlemen, 2020 might be the year we do a GoFundMe for Punch newspaper.

If the regime will not advertise with them, or scare off advertisers from them, we will fund them from our pocket.
Punch must remain alive.
It's saddening that we have a petty President who have held a section of the media by the jugular.

Right now, it seems like we must show enough support to punch newspaper till 2023 lest it dies.
Punch restored a bit of decency to our polity and repaying the favour is Paramount. https://t.co/trRfbte129

How petty can the Presidency be?
Garba Shehu & Co have shut themselves in the foot!
They have only reenforced what we all already knew, “Punch Newspapers are the only media outfit not yet cowed by GMB’s regime!” pic.twitter.com/fOgEcJFb5H
