Ex-president, Muhammadu Buhari, has stressed that Nigeria's economy and security were progressing while he was in government.

Buhari said this on Wednesday, February 6, 2024, while receiving members of the Katsina State Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists at his country home in Daura, Katsina State.

According to Buhari, security and the economy had improved significantly compared to their state in 2015.

He stated: “Nigeria’s security and economy improved significantly under my administration compared to what we met in 2015.

“Things will continue to improve in Nigeria.”

Meanwhile, former Senator Shehu Sani stated in June 2024 that insecurity was worse under President Buhari than under Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s incumbent administration.

Similarly, in an interview on Channels Television in September 2024, the National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Shehu Gabam, claimed that Nigeria’s economy was worse under Buhari than under Tinubu.
