The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has announced that it has recorded the first COVID-19 death.
The case involves a 67-year-old male who returned home following medical treatment in the UK.
He had underlying medical conditions, multiple myeloma & diabetes & was undergoing chemotherapy.
NCDC also gave an update on the number of cases of the virus in Nigeria.
Lagos- 25 FCT- 6 Ogun- 2 Ekiti- 1 Oyo- 1 Edo- 1
Total: 36 confirmed cases.
Meanwhile, the Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Chikwe Ihekweazu, has said that there will be an announcement of more cases of coronavirus in Nigeria on Monday.
The NDDC boss disclosed this during an interview with Channels TV where he revealed that the NCDC is working tirelessly to put the situation under control.
