The Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed has said that Nigeria may face recession if coronavirus pandemic goes beyond six months.
She disclosed this during an interview with Channels TV on Friday.
Ahmed said, “We are being hopeful that this COVID-19 pandemic will be limited in time.
“If it is an average of three months, we should be able to close the year with positive growth. But if it goes longer than six months, Nigeria will go into recession.”
National Center for Disease Control, NCDC, announced new cases of the virus which draws the total number of confirmed cases to 81.
So far, Nigeria has only recorded 2 deaths and 3 discharges after recovery.
