Reigning African Women's Player of the Year Asisat Oshoala has hinted at the financial struggles of her former club, FC Barcelona.

The Bay FC striker acknowledged Barcelona's financial challenges in response to a fan's post on X (formerly Twitter).

Sam Regal (@Bag_grabber) wrote, "You're broke," while replying to Oshoala's earlier tweet linking Nico Williams with a move to Barcelona after 21-year-old's impressive performance against Georgia in the Euros.

Oshoala responded, "I know bro, but miracles don't get tired, God."

Barcelona's financial struggles, caused by years of poor decision-making in the transfer market and enormous player salaries, are well-known among football fans globally.

The pandemic exacerbated the crisis, leading to a significant loss of commercial and matchday income, and ultimately, the departure of Lionel Messi in summer 2021.

After five successful seasons with Barcelona, Oshoala joined Bay FC in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) in February.

Her remarkable career at Barcelona was marked by numerous accolades, including four Primera División titles, three UEFA Women's Champions League titles, and a growing collection of individual awards.
