A man has been arrested at Atwima Foase in the Ashanti Region for allegedly possessing 76 ballot papers, sparking concerns about potential electoral tampering.

Authorities are investigating the incident to determine his intentions, while electoral officials have assured voters of the process's integrity.

Meanwhile, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Vice Presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), voted at Apagyafie in the Manhyia South constituency.

Arriving at 8am with his wife, Almar Prempeh, his mother, Madam Akosua Nyarkoh, and other supporters, he urged Ghanaians to actively participate in the electoral process.

Tensions escalated at the Assemblies of God Church polling station in Ablekuma West Constituency, Greater Accra Region, when voters protested over food distribution allegedly linked to MP Ursula Owusu-Ekuful.

“We just brought breakfast for our polling agents and EC officials, but the NDC members are asking us to take the vehicle out. This is not for voters,” said Doris Boakye, a member of the NPP.

The police were deployed to restore order after the food truck was removed amid claims of electoral misconduct.

As campaigns ended Friday, Vice President Bawumia stated, “Despite the challenges, we have performed better than the government of John Dramani Mahama.”

Mahama countered, “This is a choice between the Ghana of today and the Ghana we want – a nation of opportunity, prosperity, and justice for all.”

Election results are expected within three days, with a possible second round if no candidate achieves a majority.
