The Lagos State Commissioner of Environment and the Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, has rejected a curse placed on him by a social media user over a video he shared.
Following the controversy surrounding a video about how "Lagos is smelling," shared by a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Ushie Uguamaye, many have been attacking the state, especially the ministry headed by Wahab.
To show that his ministry is working amid the destructive nature of some elements, Wahab shared a video showing a perceived Igbo woman disposing waste indiscriminately.
Angered by the video, an X user, @Voiceofigbos, saw it as an attack on his ethnicity.
He wrote, "Dear @tokunbo_wahab it’s shall never be well with you and your entire generation. Tomorrow you will come here to write you look beyond tribe. You will only gaslight those you will gaslight. We see the game you are playing, I will be here to remind you when your Tribal power. You caught many people but you and your thugs choose to display the only Igbo women among them. To please you Yoruba Ronus. Time will tell."
In response, Wahab wrote, "Thank you for the mention. May your prayers be for you and your generation. Amen!"
