Ekene Abubakar Adams, the House of Representative for Chikun/Kajuru federal constituency of Kaduna is dead.
Adams who won the election on the ticket of the Labour Party died early on Tuesday, July 16.
The 39-year-old was the chairman of the House Committee on Sports before his demise and was the former general manager of Kada City Football Club and Remo Stars.
His death was announced by the Spokesperson of the House, Akin Rotimi in a statement.
He said the lawmaker was a “dedicated public servant, passionate sports administrator, and kind philanthropist”.
He said Adams was a “kind and gentle humanitarian, loved by all who knew him”, adding that his dedication to the development of grassroots sports in Nigeria was “unwavering” and that his contributions to the house will be deeply missed.
His death comes less than a week after the demise of APC's Olaide Adewale Akinremi, a member of the House of Representatives, who represented the Ibadan north federal constituency.
Prior to Akinremi's death, Isa Dogonyaro, a member of the House of Representatives representing Babura/Garki federal constituency of Jigawa State, had also passed away after a brief illness in May.
