Investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo has issued a stern warning to Igbo billionaires to stop displaying their cult signs publicly.

Olunloyo gave this caution in a video shared on social media, advising them to refrain from presenting themselves as members of a cult.

She stated that it has become known that these Igbo billionaires are cultists and are often observed exchanging greetings with cult signs when they meet at events.

Kemi Olunloyo mentioned instances where these billionaires were seen exchanging pleasantries with cult signs, such as at Obi Cubana’s mother’s funeral in 2021, which shook Oba, Anambra State and Zenco’s mother’s burial in Anambra State in January 2025, among others.

According to Olunloyo, these cult signs are being monitored by both local and international security agencies.

The journalist also pointed out that the late singer Mohbad, whose death raised concerns, was seen displaying cult signs the year he passed away.

“These days in Nigeria, when you see a party going on, owambe and all that, people have asoebi, maybe they don’t, but one thing I’ve noticed is that a lot of people are not shaking each other anymore.

Like I’m specifically referring to Igbo billionaires Dear Igbo billionaire, when you go to your owambes, your mother’s funerals, the birthday and everything, can you stop throwing cult signs? I mean, its getting boring, its getting annoying and its not good.

All the Igbo billionaires, watch them carefully Zenco’s party, Obi Cubana’s party, different people’s parties, Cubana Chiefpriest’s parties, all of them. They are all greeting themselves with cult signs. This is inviting a lot of things you don’t need.

Nigerian police do not like cultism, they are watching it, security agencies are watching it. And then other securities in other foreign countries are also watching it.

The Americans are watching it and so are the British. These countries battle gangs. You guys are having all these parties, your mother’s funerals and you’re greeting each other and you’re throwing cult signs. Nobody will tell you this, but Dr Kemi will tell you this.

Stop doing it. Don’t promote cultism, if you’re talking about some kind of cult, keep it within your cults. Don’t show off with it.

When Mohbad was throwing cult signs on the day of his concert, that was his last day on earth.”
