Kaduna lawmakers fighting

Lawmakers in the Kaduna State House of Assembly have exchanged blows during a fight which took place after the impeachment of the Deputy Speaker, Muktar Hazo.

Hazo was impeached by 24 out of the 34 members of the house on Thursday after a vote of no confidence was passed on him.

The session which was presided over by the Speaker, Yusuf Zailani, immediately saw the swearing-in of Hon. Isaac Auta as the new Deputy Speaker.

Auta who represents Kauru Constituency was sworn-in after taking oath has issued by the Clerk of the house.

Shortly after the event, the lawmakers descended on each other after a faction loyal to the impeached Deputy Speaker tried to steal the mace.
