The Italian media has offered a different insight into Victor Osimhen's outburst at former Super Eagles head coach Finidi George last weekend.
The Napoli star lashed out at the former Enyimba coach over alleged claims that he faked an injury to miss Nigeria's World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic.
Feeling the need to defend himself, Osimhen took to Instagram Live to respond furiously to the claims while attacking Finidi George.
Meanwhile, Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport believes Osimhen's outburst stems from transfer frustration, as his move away from Napoli has stalled with no real offers arriving at the club's table.
"It's the summer of young Victor's sorrows. Every dimension is involved, waiting for the offer to arrive to try a new experience away from Naples," the report stated.
"The uncertainty of the last period has resulted in such a degree of tension that Osimhen has no longer been able to control. This is how we can explain yesterday's outburst, entrusted to a live on Instagram, in which he lashed out at Finidi George."
Chelsea have reportedly backed out of a potential move for the 25-year-old whereas a move to Paris Saint-Germain has remained at the talk level with no concrete interest.
