Thousands of Peter Obi supporters have expressed their joy at the news of former president of the National Basketball Association, Olumide Apkata joining the Labour Party.
Apkata announced his political move on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.
He revealed that he joined the party in March.
Parts of his tweet read: "Quite a number of people have called/messaged me to confirm the news, currently making the rounds, that I have joined a political party in March this year and on Sunday I attended my first Ward Meeting at Oredo Ward 6, in Benin-City, where I was formally introduced to members of the Ward and presented with my Party membership card."
Reacting to the news, Obidents welcomed him whole heartedly and were happy he chose their party, the Labour Party.
