Gospel musician Oluwatimileyin Ajayi dominated social media trends on Monday, January 13 after reports surfaced that he was caught with the decapitated head of his girlfriend.
While the reports continue to generate mixed commentary and condemnation on social and traditional media, some eyewitnesses who were present moments before the discovery shared details of what the embattled singer told them during interrogation.
An eyewitness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, stated that a church member noticed Ajayi's suspicious behavior near a river close to the church.
When approached, Ajayi attempted to dispose of a bag he was holding in the river, which was later found to contain the decapitated head of his girlfriend.
Church members quickly intervened, detaining Ajayi until the police arrived.
In a video circulating online, Ajayi admitted to killing his girlfriend following a dispute over her phone. He claimed he was instructed by an unknown woman to bring the head.
The gruesome discovery has sparked outrage and horror within the community, with the suspect now in police custody. Ajayi has been arrested and is set to face severe legal consequences as investigations continue.
