Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has declared his intention to fight anyone who tramples on his integrity.
Addressing the media, Dangote revealed that the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), has opened a blending plant somewhere off Malta, where they bring poor quality products with fake certificates.
According to reports, the blending plant is a facility where petroleum products especially AGO(Diesel), are produced by mixing base oils with additives and other substances, then marketed as a refined product.
Expressing his frustration following a battle with Nigeria’s regulatory authority, Dangote stated that he is not scared and does not fear anybody. He vows to fight head-on, adding that they can do whatever they want.
He stated, “At the 650 bpm and 700 bpm that we are producing, it is better quality than what was imported. Your Excellences, most of you are having problems with your vehicles. Either you’ve had or you are still having problems with your vehicles. It is because of the bad fuel they are importing into the country. Go to both fueling stations and check the quality.”
He further said, “Some NNPC people and traders have opened a blending plant somewhere off Malta. They bring in poor quality products with fake certificates. We all know these areas; we know what they are doing. Its not that we don’t know. This is what I’ve been fighting all my life. I’m a very fearless person, I believe so much in God, and I don’t fear anybody. They can do whatever they want to do. I am not scared; I will fight head on.”
The billionaire businessman is currently in a battle with the Nigerian government and its regulators. Recall that the Chief Executive Officer of the NMDPRA, Farouk Ahmed, claims that Dangote is attempting to monopolise the oil market.
He also accused Dangote of producing inferior products and that he has not yet been licensed.
Not pleased by the smack on his reputation, Dangote dismissed the allegations and revealed plans to sell the Dangote refinery to the NNPCL to operate it as they see fit.
