Fenerbahce manager José Mourinho has showered encomiums on Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers following his five-star performance for Rangers in the Europa League round of 16 first leg.

Dessers starred as Rangers stunned Fenerbahce 3-1 at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium in Istanbul.

The 30-year-old scored and assisted to secure a crucial first-leg advantage for the Scottish giants.

The Super Eagles striker also had two goals disallowed for offside in the second half.

Speaking in a post-match interview, the Special One hailed the Nigerian international for his display on the day.

“Dessers is a good player, but today he looked like the best player in the world, but he is not,” Mourinho said, as per Rangers Review.

José Mourinho and his side will be looking to overturn the tie in the second leg at Ibrox Stadium on Thursday, March 14.
